Membership objectives
Our objective is simple: ensure that growth strengthens the community. We advocate on the issues that directly shape daily life — safety, responsible development, housing policy, local services, neighbourhood beautification, and practical improvements that make our streets cleaner, safer, and more livable. We engage directly with elected officials, City of Toronto staff, agencies, and other decision-makers to ensure residents and businesses are not sidelined in decisions that affect their future. Our focus is evidence-based, and grounded in the long-term well-being of the ‘Shore.
Membership benefits
Members can take part in initiatives, working groups, and volunteer projects that deliver tangible results. They gain access to meetings and community forums where issues are discussed openly and strategy is shaped collectively. Members receive independent newsletters and timely updates that provide clarity on local developments and municipal decisions. There are structured opportunities for civic engagement — from consultations to advocacy campaigns — ensuring your voice is organized and effective. Members are also invited to social events and fundraisers that strengthen community ties.
Business membership
Business Members receive a meaningful seat at the table. This includes direct access to New Toronto Initiative leadership and local advocacy efforts, along with visible recognition as a trusted local partner. Business Membership signals commitment to the neighbourhood and positions your organization as an active contributor to the decisions shaping New Toronto and South Etobicoke’s future.

NTI is committed to respecting your privacy and maintaining the trust you place in us. By participating as a NTI Member and submitting your information, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
Confidentiality: All personal information you provide will be treated as confidential and used solely for purposes related to membership, communication, and organizational activities.
No Third-Party Sharing: Your contact details and personal information will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties without your explicit consent, unless required by law.
Internal Use Only: Information collected will be accessible only to authorized members of the organization for administrative and engagement purposes.
Voluntary Participation: Providing your information is entirely voluntary, and you may request to update or remove your information at any time.
Communication Consent: By joining, you consent to receive communications related to the organization’s activities. You may opt out at any time.
Membership in New Toronto Initiative is open to residents and business owners in New Toronto, as well as supporters outside the community. Fees are used to fund community beautification, advocacy efforts, and administrative costs. We are a non-partisan, volunteer-run organization.
At the heart of the New Toronto Initiative is a shared set of values. By joining, all Individual, Household, Business, and Affiliate Members agree to act in alignment with our Mission, Objectives, and Code of Ethics. We are a community of respect, and we move forward together.
